Screens and reports getting slower
Month-end reports take minutes, searches time out and users keep a second tab open while they wait.
Application management for the systems your business runs on — ERP, portals, customer apps and line-of-business software. We monitor them, tune them, upgrade them and modernise the legacy parts, drawing on 21 years of building and running business applications.
When applications need managing
Applications age quietly. Data grows, users multiply, frameworks reach end of life and the people who built them move on — until one day the system that runs the business slows to a crawl.
Month-end reports take minutes, searches time out and users keep a second tab open while they wait.
Nobody is watching uptime or error logs, so the first alert is an angry call or a lost order.
Old .NET Framework, PHP 5 or 7, AngularJS or Windows Server versions that no longer receive security updates.
A desktop or VB-era application that works, just about, but blocks mobile access, integrations and growth.
Over-sized servers wasting money, or under-sized ones that crash at peak hours and during sales.
User accounts, masters, data corrections and licence renewals handled ad hoc by whoever is free.
Our application maintenance services
Application maintenance services are about running the application well, not just fixing it when it breaks. Pick the services you need or let us manage the application end to end.
Uptime, error, response-time and job monitoring with alerts, so problems are seen before users report them.

Proactive application monitoring
We set up monitoring for uptime, error rates, response times, background jobs, disk space and certificate expiry, with alerts routed to our engineers. Most incidents are caught from an alert or a trend on a dashboard, not from a phone call — and every incident gets a short root-cause note.
Application performance tuning
Most slow applications have a handful of causes: missing indexes, unbounded queries, heavy pages, chatty APIs or under-sized hosting. We profile the application under realistic load, fix the biggest bottlenecks first and measure every change, so the improvement is visible in numbers, not just felt.
Upgrades & migrations
Frameworks, databases and operating systems all have end-of-support dates. We keep a platform register for each application, plan upgrades well ahead of those dates and run them on a staging copy first, with a rollback plan. The same discipline applies to moving an application to new servers or the cloud.
Legacy application modernisation
Replacing a legacy system in one go is risky and expensive. We usually modernise in stages: wrap the old system with APIs, move the most-used screens to a modern web or mobile front end, migrate the data, and retire old modules only when the new ones are proven. The business keeps running throughout.
Application administration
Somebody has to create users, reset roles, fix wrong data entries, run month-end jobs and keep licences current. We take on that routine application administration under a monthly plan, follow written runbooks, and log every change so you have a full audit trail.
What you get
Reports and documents that show how each application is performing and what needs doing next — written for the people who own the budget, not just engineers.

How application maintenance works
We learn each application before we promise anything about it, then improve it in measured steps.
Architecture, hosting, logs, performance and platform versions reviewed, with the top risks listed.
Access, documentation and runbooks set up; monitoring and alerting switched on for each application.
Quick wins first: slow queries, failing jobs, backup gaps and urgent security updates.
Monitoring, administration and tuning every month, with an availability and performance report.
Upgrades and legacy modernisation delivered from an agreed roadmap, one release at a time.
Engagement models
Every plan is quoted after the free health review, based on the number of applications, their complexity and the hours of cover you need.
Free
A clear picture before you commit.
Monthly retainer
End-to-end application management for live systems.
Fixed price
One defined move, delivered and handed back.
From a quote
A staged programme for systems that need replacing.
Why Sysfo
We have built and run ERP, billing, HR, e-commerce and MLM platforms ourselves, so we know what keeps an application healthy for years.
We manage servers and hosting as well as code, so slowdowns are traced end to end instead of blamed across vendors.
Performance and availability are tracked from day one, so every report shows real before-and-after numbers.
A platform register means end-of-support dates never arrive as a surprise or an emergency.
Staged modernisation keeps the business running, with old and new systems reconciled until cut-over.
SQL Server, MySQL and PostgreSQL tuning, archiving and migrations are part of everyday work.
Least-privilege access, NDAs on request and runbooks that stay with you if you ever change provider.
FAQ
Application maintenance services keep business applications running well after launch. They cover proactive monitoring, performance tuning, application administration, database upkeep, integration upkeep, framework and platform upgrades, cloud migration and legacy modernisation. The aim is a system that stays fast, secure and supported, rather than one that is only repaired when it breaks.
Our software maintenance and support service is built around a support contract: bug fixing, QA testing, security patches and a help desk under an SLA. Application maintenance is application management — monitoring, performance, administration, upgrades and modernisation of the systems you run. Many clients use both, and the same Sysfo team can deliver them together.
It depends on how many applications you have, their size and technology, the hours of cover you need and any upgrade or modernisation work planned. After a free application health review we give you a fixed, itemised quote, usually a monthly retainer for ongoing management and fixed prices for upgrade projects.
Yes. We start with a transition period of two to four weeks to get access, review the code and hosting, write runbooks and switch on monitoring. If documentation is thin, we create it as we go, so the knowledge belongs to your business rather than one developer.
We assess each part of the system and decide whether to retain, re-platform, refactor or rebuild it. Usually we add an API layer around the legacy application, build new web or mobile screens on top, migrate the data in stages and retire old modules once the new ones are proven in parallel running.
Yes. Uptime, error and job monitoring run round the clock and raise alerts automatically. How quickly an engineer responds outside business hours depends on the cover you choose, and that is written into your plan, along with escalation contacts for critical incidents.
Our application maintenance services cover .NET and .NET Framework, PHP and Laravel, Java, Node.js, Angular and React front ends, SQL Server, MySQL and PostgreSQL databases, and hosting on Windows Server, Linux, Azure, AWS and Indian data centres. We also support commercial off-the-shelf applications alongside custom software.
We plan to avoid that. Upgrades and migrations are rehearsed on a staging copy, scheduled for low-traffic hours, and come with a written rollback plan. For bigger moves we run old and new versions side by side and reconcile the data before switching users over.
Often, yes. Performance tuning usually lowers the server power an application needs, and our quarterly capacity review flags over-sized servers, idle resources and unused licences. Any change to hosting is tested first, so savings never come at the cost of stability.
