When you need a web application

Six problems a well-built web app makes disappear.

A website tells people about your business. A web application lets them do business with you, and lets your team work from anywhere with nothing to install.

01

Customers call for everything

Order status, invoices, bookings and complaints all come through phone and email because there is no self-service portal.

02

A slow, dated app people avoid

Screens that take seconds to load, break on a phone and need training just to find the right button.

03

A SaaS idea stuck at prototype

The demo impressed investors, but it can't handle subscriptions, multiple customers or real traffic.

04

Reports that arrive too late

Managers wait for someone to export, paste and email figures instead of seeing them live in a dashboard.

05

Worries about data security

Customer data, payments and logins handled by code nobody has checked against common web vulnerabilities.

06

Desktop software ties staff to the office

An installed application that only works on office PCs, so field staff, partners and remote teams are left out.

Web application development services

Portals, SaaS products and dashboards, designed and engineered.

From a focused MVP to a multi-tenant platform serving thousands of users, we handle UX design, front end, back end, integrations, hosting and support.

UX & UI Design for Web Apps

User research, journeys, wireframes and a clickable prototype tested with real users before development.

Booking & Ordering Applications

Appointment, reservation, ordering and quotation systems with payments, reminders and admin back offices.

Desktop-to-Web Modernisation

Move ageing desktop or client-server software to the browser, keeping the workflows your staff already know.

Customer & partner portals

Self-service portals that cut calls and speed up payments.

A good portal answers the questions your customers and partners ask every day, before they pick up the phone. We build portals where they can track orders and service requests, download invoices and contracts, raise complaints and pay online, while your back office sees everything in one place.

  • Secure login with OTP, email or single sign-on
  • Orders, tickets, documents and statements in one view
  • Online payments by UPI, card and net banking
  • Branded for your business, on your own domain

SaaS product development

SaaS products engineered for many customers from day one.

Selling software as a service needs more than features. We design the tenant model, subscription plans, usage limits and white-label branding up front, so adding your hundredth customer is as easy as the first. Founders get an MVP quickly and an architecture that won't need rewriting at scale.

  • Multi-tenant data isolation and per-tenant settings
  • Plans, trials, subscription billing and usage metering
  • White-label domains, logos and colour themes
  • Super-admin console for onboarding and support

Real-time dashboards & admin panels

Dashboards that show what is happening now.

Admin panels are where your team spends its day, so we design them for speed and clarity: live KPIs at the top, actionable lists below, and filters that remember what each user needs. Data updates in real time through WebSockets or SignalR, and every chart drills down to the records behind it.

  • Live KPIs for revenue, orders, stock and service levels
  • Role-specific views for owners, managers and staff
  • Drill-down from any chart to the underlying records
  • Exports to Excel and PDF, plus scheduled email reports

Progressive & mobile-ready web apps

One web application on every screen your users own.

Every web app we build is responsive and touch-friendly as standard. Where users need an app-like experience, we add progressive web app features so it can be installed on the home screen, work through patchy connections and send notifications, all from a single codebase.

  • Responsive layouts tested on Android, iPhone and desktop
  • Install to home screen and offline caching
  • Push notifications for updates and reminders
  • Native apps later, reusing the same back end

Security & performance

Secure, fast web applications that stay that way.

Web apps are exposed to the whole internet, so we build security in rather than testing it in at the end. Code follows OWASP Top 10 guidance, sensitive data is encrypted, and every release is load-tested so the application stays responsive when traffic spikes.

  • OWASP Top 10 protections and dependency scanning
  • Role-based access, audit logs and session controls
  • Caching, CDN and database tuning for fast pages
  • Load testing before launch and monitoring after it

What you get

Why Sysfo

A web app development company that also runs its own SaaS.

We build and operate our own web products, from ERP and helpdesk to webmail and recharge platforms, so we design for real users, real traffic and real support calls.

SaaS experience in-house

Our own products run multi-tenant, subscription-based and white-labelled, so we know the hard parts of SaaS first-hand.

UX before code

Every project starts with journeys and a clickable prototype, so you approve how it works before paying for development.

Performance as a requirement

Page-speed and API response targets are written into the specification and checked before every release.

Secure by default

OWASP-aligned coding, encrypted data, audit logs and least-privilege access are standard, not optional extras.

Your code, your cloud

Source code in your Git repository and hosting in your own cloud account if you prefer, with an NDA on request.

FAQ

Web Application Development — frequently asked questions

What is web application development?

Web application development is the process of designing, building and running software that people use in a web browser, such as customer portals, booking systems, SaaS products and admin dashboards. Unlike a brochure website, a web application has user accounts, business logic and a database behind it. Users need nothing to install, and updates reach everyone the moment they are released.

How much does it cost to build a web application?

The cost depends on the number of user roles and features, the integrations involved, design complexity and expected traffic. After a free discovery call, Sysfo gives you a fixed, itemised quote broken into releases, so you can see what each feature costs and start with a smaller MVP if you prefer. There are no open-ended hourly bills on fixed-scope projects.

How long does web application development take?

A focused MVP typically goes live in six to ten weeks, including UX design, development and testing. A larger portal or SaaS platform is usually delivered in phases over three to six months. We demo working software every two weeks, so you see progress continuously rather than waiting until the end.

What is the difference between a website and a web application?

A website mainly presents information, such as your services, about page and contact form. A web application lets users do things: log in, place orders, track requests, manage data or run reports. Many businesses need both, and we often build a marketing website alongside the web app. For brand-led sites, see our website design service.

Which technologies do you use for web apps?

We choose the stack to fit the project. Front ends are usually React, Next.js or Angular with TypeScript. Back ends are ASP.NET Core or Node.js, with PostgreSQL, SQL Server or MongoDB, Redis for caching and SignalR or WebSockets for real-time features. Hosting is on AWS, Microsoft Azure or Indian data centres.

Can you build a SaaS product for us?

Yes. We handle the SaaS-specific parts of web application development: multi-tenant architecture, subscription plans and billing, usage limits, white-label branding, onboarding and a super-admin console. We run SaaS products of our own, so we design for scale and support from the first release rather than retrofitting it later.

Will the web app work on mobile phones?

Yes. Every web app we build is responsive and tested on Android phones, iPhones, tablets and desktops. Where users need an app-like experience, we can add progressive web app features such as home-screen installation, offline access and push notifications, or build native mobile apps that reuse the same back-end APIs.

Who owns the code and the data?

You do. The source code is kept in a Git repository you own, and the application can be hosted in your own cloud account. On handover you receive the code, database, deployment scripts and documentation. We sign an NDA on request and there is no licence lock-in on custom web applications.

Do you provide hosting and support after launch?

Yes. We can host the application on managed cloud servers with backups and uptime monitoring, or deploy it to your own infrastructure. After the warranty period, a monthly care plan covers security patches, framework upgrades, bug fixes and small improvements, with larger features quoted separately.
